Kennith Wayne Warde

Ken cherished his Christian faith, his family and his friends. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Appleton for over 50 years, going on several work camps (and taking his only whitewater rafting trip), being a communion steward, Men's Club member, usher, Methodist Men's member, Stephen Minister, as well as an Odd Fellows member.<br>Ken was generous with his time and talents, always helping friends and family with small projects, taking them shopping and on errands. Every Saturday, for many years, he took a long-time friend, who was unable to drive, to breakfast and grocery shopping. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He supported them by going to concerts, piano recitals and graduations, among others. His great-grandson, born in July, was the light of his life.<br><br>Ken is survived by a daughter Susan (James) Wendt of Appleton, a son Steven (Bernadette) of Tucson AZ; four grandchildren: Sarah (Cheyenne) Van Hoof of Freedom, Angela Wendt, Brennan Wendt both of Appleton, Stacy Warde, Phoenix AZ, and one great-grandchild, Dakota Wendt, Appleton, three nephews, 1 niece, 4 cousins, and special friend Lois Medlin.<br>He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years Miriam, nephews Tim and Terry Vollmer, sister-in-law Margaret Vollmer, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mildred and Jim Anderson.<br><br>Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 324 E. Franklin, Appleton on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20 from 4 to 8pm at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel 3212 S. Oneida St Menasha, and 1 hour before the service on Wednesday. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Warde and The Rev. Kent Ingram.
