Age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2003 at his home. He was born on April 13, 1928 to the late Gilbert and Agnes (Vander Bloomen) Bastian in the Town of Osborne, WI. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict, mainly stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He spent his early years in Wrightstown graduating from the High School there. He wed Rosemarie Miller on August 17, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Ken was employed at Schlaefer Supply Company for 37 years, starting as a clerk and retiring as the Vice President. He really enjoyed spending time on the fairways and the lanes with his buddies, followed by a game of cribbage or sheepshead, He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rosemarie; sons: Gregory (Debbie) Bastian, Hilbert; Mark (Mary) Bastian, Kaukauna; Scott (Leanne) Bastian, Kaukauna;
Grandchildren: Stephanie (Fiance Kevin Stienbrecher) Bastian, Ben (Fiancee Emily Casper) Bastian, Michael and Tyler Bastian and one more on the way, Allison, Christopher and James Van Dyke, Sam DeCoster; a sister: Lorraine Berken, Kaukauna; brothers: Melvin (Lois) Bastian, Wrightstown; Marvin (Aloyice) Bastian, Crandon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Gordon Berken.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Gib Schmidt officiating. Friends will be received from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM also on Thursday. A Memorial fund is being established.

A special thank you to Theda Care Hospice, especially Noel and to Doctor Phillips for their outstanding care of Ken.
