Kenneth Robert Strobel

Ken Strobel, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah. He was born on August 17, 1952, in Neenah, the son of Robert and Fausta (Boutwell) Strobel. Ken was united in marriage to Marilyn Holewinski on August 16, 1980, and she preceded him in death in 2006. Ken and Rosemary Coenraad were then together for the last 15 years, married for 5. He was employed with Gilbert Paper Company for many years. Ken enjoyed hunting, sturgeon spearing, bowling, playing cribbage, music and live concerts. He was a notorious jokester, who enjoyed making people laugh. Ken was gregarious, warm, and could find a new or old friend anywhere he went. He had a one-of-a-kind attitude that helped to carry him through in life. Above all Ken’s biggest pride was his family.

Ken is survived by his wife: Rose; children: Ryan (Molly) Strobel, Meghan (fiancé Andrew Megow) Strobel, and Angela (Russ) Lindsey; 3 grandchildren: Courtney Becher, Nicole and Dylan Hanshaw; 4 great grandchildren: Letti, Levi, Lincoln, and Arya; 2 siblings: Dave (Debbie) Strobel and Sherry (Art) Walters; other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and sister: Betty Jo Lusignan.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the chapel from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the benefit of organ transplant recipients.

Ken’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who made Ken’s last years as happy as they were.
