Kenneth Albert Klarner

Kenneth Albert Klarner passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 10, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1947, to Herbert John and Gladys Irene (Wolff) Klarner in Green Bay. In his early childhood, Ken lived with his family in rural Black Creek and the Appleton area. Ken graduated from Appleton High School in 1965, then moved on to receive his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UW Madison in 1969.

Ken was a self-proclaimed author and had two books published. In his younger years, he played accordion and participated in 4-H. He enjoyed listening to music, watching TV and was especially fond of the old TV shows. He was a member of St John's UCC in Appleton.

Ken is survived by his sisters Mary Ann (Klarner) Tellock and Jane (Dennis) Nagreen. He is further survived by nieces and nephews: Michelle (Ben Blanton) Tellock, Jason Tellock, Derek (Anna) Nagreen and Brad (Kristine) Nagreen. In addition, he is further survived by great nieces and nephews: Noah Nagreen, Adelaide Nagreen and Judah Nagreen, his aunt Rosella Laabs, uncle Melvin Klarner and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Gladys as well as many aunts, uncles and other loved ones. 

A funeral service for Ken will take place on Sunday September 29, 2024, at 12:30 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the service begins. Ken will be laid to rest on Monday September 30 at 11:00 am Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

Special gratitude to Ken’s cousin Chris for the love and support offered for so much of Ken’s life and his godson/cousin, Bruce.
