Kenneth “Ken” H. Stueber, age 85, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born on November 6, 1931 to the late Arthur and Augusta (Reffke) Stueber in Appleton, Wisconsin. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ken married Theresa VanGeffen on May 13, 1959 in Menominee, Michigan. He was employed with Consolidated Papers for forty-three years retiring in December of 1993. Ken had a strong work ethic; rarely missing a day of work. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, collecting golf balls, keeping his yard always looking good and above all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Theresa; his daughter, Karen (Matthew) Digman of Appleton; his precious grandchildren, Maxwell and Catherine Digman; his siblings, Hazel (Bill) Longworth of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Carol (Art) Joy of Appleton, WI, William “Butch” (Jean) Stueber of Menasha, WI and Ronald Stueber of Kaukauna. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Ann Wadlund of Minneapolis, MN, Jane VanGeffen of Kimberly, and Veronica Stueber of Kaukauna ; two brothers-in-law, Bernie Hill and Keith Paulson, both of Appleton. Ken is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Genevieve, Arthur Jr (Irene), Margaret (Robert), Vivian, Leo, Shirley and Beverly (Earl) and in-laws, Martin (Catherine) VanGeffen and his his brother-in-law, Donald VanGeffen.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Military Honors will follow the service. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ken's name. Online condolences can be made at www.wichmannfargo.
Ken's family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center of Appleton and Neenah as well as Peabody Manor for the compassionate care given to Ken and his family during these past few months. Also, there have been many dear friends and close neighbors who have helped and given support in many ways.
