Kenneth B. Stuyvenberg

Age 79, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, following a lengthy illness. Ken was born in Appleton on July 18, 1922, son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Plesser) Stuyvenberg. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in the Pacific Theater with the 76th Amphibious Tank Battalion. On February 15, 1947, Ken married the former Nori Vandehey in Kimberly; she survives. Ken was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly, and from 1941 to 1982 he was employed by the Kimberly Clark Corporation as a Maintenance Supervisor. His work took him to numerous destinations including, Kimberly; Neenah; and Niagara, Wisconsin; Memphis, Tennessee; Fullerton, California; Beech Island, South Carolina; Niagara Falls, New York; and Puerto Rico. Ken retired in 1982, and enjoyed his cabin in the mountains with the company of his family. In his later years was ready to travel at the drop of a hat, and traveled extensively with Nori. They also enjoyed shorter trips in their motor home.

Ken was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-five years: Nori Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; three daughters: Jayne (Jim) Overton of Columbia, South Carolina; Joni (Scotty) Stovall of Eugene, Oregon; Jude Stuyvenberg of Eugene, Oregon; two sons: David (Charlotte) Stuyvenberg of Seattle, Washington and Ron Stuyvenberg of Fullerton, California; seven grandchildren: Kenny (Sandra) Boyst, Cory Boyst, Michelle Boyst, Lisa Overton, Kelly Overton, Megan Stuyvenberg, Dion (Don) Disbro; a great-grandson: Harrison Boyst; three sisters: Rita (Carl) Rehfeldt of East DuBuque, Illinois; Betty (Jim) Ludwig of Chilton, and Mary (Larry) Vander Pas of Kimberly; four brothers: Donald (Ginger) Stuyvenberg of Darboy, Gene (Carol) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly, Paul (Nancy) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly, and Dick (Pat) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; a sister-in-law: Karen Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; and an aunt: Evelyn Herm of Scottsdale, Arizona. Ken is further survived by Nori’s sisters: Mary (Kenneth) Robl of Oshkosh and Eunice (Ray) Sanderfoot of Darboy, and her brother-in-law Bill Gloudemans of Little Chute. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Joey, brothers Robert and Jerry Stuyvenberg, sisters-in-law Dorothy Stuyvenberg and Jean Stuyvenberg, and brothers-in-law Ken Martin and Bob Kramer.

The funeral liturgy for Ken will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2002 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery will military memorial rites provided by the members of William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service.
