Keith Eldred Memorial Service

Dr. Keith C. Eldred, age 79, formerly of Cheyenne, WY, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Appleton, WI. He was born on February 28, 1945, to the late Carlyle and Delia (Muhlman) Eldred. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Wing, MN.

On June 24, 1966, he married Judith Angela Germann. Judy preceded him in death on March 14, 1997. They built a life together as Keith completed his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Tennessee. Keith served in the Wyoming Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves for a total of 14 years. He owned and operated an optometric clinic in Cheyenne from 1972-2009. Keith shared the practice with his son until his retirement in 2016. He then resided in Cape Coral, FL, until moving in with family in Appleton.

He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, serving in any number of roles through the years. Most recently he was a member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Cape Coral. He enjoyed time with his family, and enjoying the mountains of the west as well as the warm weather of Florida. Keith’s life was a reflection of his belief in eternal life through Jesus Christ. While we will miss his warm smile, gentle spirit, and steadfast devotion, we find comfort in knowing he is now in the presence of God and at peace in his eternal home.

He is survived by his children: Dr. David (Linda) Eldred, Cheyenne, WY, and Suzanne (Rev. Matthew) Krenke, Appleton, WI; six grandchildren, Dawson (Haleigh), Lindsay, Lydia (Espen), Nathaniel, Joshua, and Julia and one great-granddaughter, Marlee Eldred. He also leaves behind two sisters Gwen Wiebusch and Maxine Place, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Young and his three brothers-in-law; Hugo Wiebusch, Gordon Place, and Bud Young.

Visitation will take place at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4776 Mountain Rd., Cheyenne, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 am until the memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Matt Krenke officiating, and a light luncheon to follow. Committal will take place at a later date.
