Age 47, past away unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 17, 2001. She was born December 16, 1953, to the late Arthur and Regina (Herres) Fischer and had been an Appleton resident since 1977. Kay was a loving mother who supported all of her children’s events and activities, loved traveling and enjoyed spending time with her five Golden Retrievers. She is survived by her husband, James A. Sommer, to whom she had been married for 25 years; seven children, Kimberlee K. Sommer, and her special friend, Brent Thompson, Appleton; Kara E. Sommer, Appleton; Kevin J. Sommer, and his fiancee, Rachel Keller, Appleton; Kent A. Sommer, and his special friend, Nicki Alstad, Appleton; Kyle B. Sommer, at home; Korey S. Sommer, at home; and Kristen L. Sommer, at home. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
