HENDRICK, KAY L. (nee VanDenHoek)
Kay Hendrick, of Menasha, age 52 years, found eternal peace on January 16, 2008. Kay was born on January 19, 1955 to Alvin and Kayrl (Landaal) VanDenHoek in Waupun, Wisconsin. She was a 1973 graduate of Waupun High School where she was involved in many organizations and activities, including yearbook staff, the school newspaper, homecoming queen, student council, pep club, prom court, debate, and service club. Kay went on to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she graduated with a degree in education in 1977. That same year she and Michael Hendrick were married. Kay and Mike moved from Oshkosh to Menasha where they would raise two beautiful children; Elizabeth and Adam.
While raising her children, Kay also found time to be a bookkeeper for Pedro's Mexican Restaurant, an assistant librarian at Maplewood Middle School, and a laboratory technician at Kimberly Clark until health issues forced her to call it quits.
Kay is survived and will be missed by her husband of 31 years: Mike Hendrick; her two children: Elizabeth (Alan) Weller and Adam Hendrick; her parents: Alvin and Kayrl VanDenHoek; her brother: Scott VanDenHoek; her sister: Karen (Garry) Fisher; brother-in-law: Kurt VanBuren, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded is death by her brother Mark VanDenHoek and her sister Joanne VanBuren.
The memorial service for Kay will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Deacon Jerry Cross officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Kay's life.
