Age 78, died on Friday, May 21, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Katy was born on April 6, 1926, in Berlin, Germany. She married Francis “Fran” Van Eyck on June 19, 1948, in Berlin, Germany; he preceded her in death on October 8, 2003. Katy enjoyed knitting and crocheting; she was also an avid baseball fan, with a special interest in the Braves and the Brewers. Survivors include her children, Bruce (Kathy) Van Eyck, Menominee Falls, Wisconsin; Judy (Patrick) Bell, Delavan, Wisconsin; and Peter Van Eyck (life partner Bill Martin), Brookfield; her three grandchildren, Nick Van Eyck, Gabe Van Eyck and Franny Van Eyck; her sister-in-law, Lorretta Quaintance, Kaukauna; and her brother-in-law, Nick (Carol) Van Eyck, Kaukauna. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, with Fr. Michael K. O’Rourke officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Katy’s name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the ICU staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their loving care.
