Kathleen “Kathy” Lois Sturm (LeBouton), age 89 of Menasha, WI passed away on April 15, 2023. She was born to Ferdinand LeBouton and Jennie (Doubek) LeBouton-Brzycki on February 26, 1934 in Menominee, Michigan. She graduated with honors from St. Mary High School with the class of ’52 and went on to work for Kimberly Clark for 8 years. She married the love of her life, John Sturm, in November of 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha, WI, and together, they raised 3 wonderful children.
In a word, Kathy was real sassy – she always told it like it is. She was beloved by everyone that knew her, but wasn’t afraid to tell her friends how she felt, and yet, she never complained when she was troubled by something. Kathy was a real dog lover, raising Prince and George most recently, but also always keeping room in her heart for her granddogs. She enjoyed Sunday drives around town and eating out whenever she could. She liked singing at home whenever she thought nobody was listening. More than anything, though, Kathy was a beautiful mother and grandmother to her 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and even her 2 granddogs, and took immense pride in her family.
Kathy is survived by her 3 children, Jane (Jeff) Van Handel, John Sturm, and Mary (Mike) Strohm; her grandchildren, Amanda Weigman and Octavia Strohm; her brother, Roger (Paula) LeBouton; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, John Sturm; her parents, Ferdinand LeBouton and Jennie LeBouton-Brzycki; her stepfather, Eddie Brzycki; her brother, Dennis LeBouton; her infant sister, Mary Ann LeBouton; and her special aunt, Emily “Onie” Doubek.
A funeral visitation will be held for Kathy on Friday, April 28 from 10-11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 2nd St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a mass to follow at 11 AM. Kathy will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Saving Paws Animal Rescue in Appleton or the St. Joseph Food Program in Menasha in honor of Kathy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Gardens of Fountain Way as well as the nurses at ThedaCare At Home Care and ThedaCare Hospice for their love, compassion, and comfort they provided to Kathy through the last few months of her wonderful life.
