Kathy Kay Berger, age 61, passed away on November 10, 2019. Kathy was born on October 17, 1958 in New London, Wisconsin to William, Jr and Joyce E. (Bonikowske) Pluger. She was a graduate of Shiocton High School, Class of 1976. She attended Fox Valley Technical College for a short time. On May 7, 1982 she married Greg Berger At Messiah Lutheran Church in Shiocton.
She was a former employee of Universal Paper, where she met her husband Greg. Later she took a job with the YMCA in Child Care. She worked at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church as Secretary, and in The Early Childhood Center. She was a long-time member at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton where she was a member of the Church Choir and the Bell Choir as well as volunteering assisting the Kindergarten Program.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and took great joy in being the “family photographer”. She loved Monarch Butterflys and working in her flower garden. She was also a talented baker and always made the holidays special with a special treat she made herself.
She will be sadly missed by: her husband Greg of Appleton; children, Mark (Hailee Peterson) Berger of Green Bay and Carrie Berger of Appleton, grandchildren; Haidyn and Oliver Berger and Preston Peterson, siblings, John C. Pluger of Iola, Don (Judy) Pluger of Shiocton, her beloved dog Barklie as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her best friend Judy Schroeder.
Funeral Services for Kathy will be on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison Street in Appleton with the Rev. Matthew Holtz officiating.
