Kathy Ellen Jahnke

Kathy E. Jahnke, 73, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 24, 1946, the daughter of Kenneth and Florence (Drews) Wienandt. Kathy was united in marriage to John Jahnke on March 31, 1969, in Appleton. She was employed with Franciscan Care Center in Appleton for 13 years in housekeeping. Kathy’s true passion was her grandchildren and being involved in everything that they did. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, shopping, flowers, crafts, her cat Daisy and watching the Brewers and Bucks.

Kathy is survived by her husband: John; 2 children: Craig Jahnke and Tracy (Davin Forsberg) Leeman-Forsberg; 3 grandchildren: Alex Leeman, Kyle Jahnke, and Jacob Leeman; Siblings: Pat (Charlie) Van Ooyen, Randy (Dolores) Wienandt, Bonnie Wienandt, and Rodney (Julie) Wienandt; brother- and sisters-in-law: Steve Reab and Sue Wienandt; a former son-in-law: Jeff Leeman; other relatives and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Peggy Reab; a brother: David Wienandt.

Visitation for Kathy will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. The funeral will be at 1:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

Kathy’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Kathy’s best friend, Kelly (Bob) Stone for her support and friendship; and also a special thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home and Hospice for their care and compassion to Kathy.
