Age 50, died in Appleton, surrounded by her family, after a three and a half year battle with a brain tumor on Tuesday July 1, 2003. She was born to Roland and Theresa (Timblin) Pfeifer in Fond du Lac on December 1, 1952. Kathy graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in 1971. As an honor student, she graduated from Marian College with a nursing degree. She went on to be a registered nurse and worked at Appleton Medical Center for 30 years. Kathy was shift supervisor and most recently worked in the oncology department. Kathy was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Appleton. Despite her busy schedule at Appleton Medical Center, Kathy managed to be active in various charitable activities. Kathy loved to travel, especially to foreign countries. Family was very important to Kathy and she was especially proud of her nieces and nephews. She cherished her loving dog, Buffy.

Kathy is survived by her parents, three brothers: Daniel Pfeifer of Sparta, WI, Michael (Nancy) Pfeifer of Fond du Lac, and Thomas (Debbie) Pfeifer of Plymouth; a sister, Kristine Pfeifer of Chicago, IL; two nieces, Jennifer and Carrie; and three nephews: Corey, Kevin and Matthew. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, relatives and many friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents and a sister-in-law, Anne Pfeifer.

The funeral liturgy will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2003, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden, WI.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice Home for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cherry Meadows Hospice Home, St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Appleton, or the Brain Tumor Foundation. Memorials may be sent in care of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Pfeifer, W2451 County Road B, Eden, WI 53019.
