Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Tralongo

Kathleen Ann Tralongo, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 93. Kathy was born on November 29, 1925 in Northport, Wisconsin to Stewart and Marion (Benedict) Smiley. After graduating from New London High School, she moved to Milwaukee at the age of 17. While in Milwaukee, she met Salvatore “Sam” Tralongo, and they were happily married for 64 years.

Kathy enjoyed being a teacher’s aide at Franklin Elementary School. Hobbies included sewing club, book club, Bible Study and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her children; Gina (Dan) Helf and their children Corey (Abby), Kevin (Megan), and Robert (Abby Johnston) Helf; son Thomas (Ginger) Tralongo and their children Mariah and Salvatore “Sam” Tralongo; daughter Susan (Steve) Havey and their children Dana (Tyler) Holtzheimer and Cara Havey; and seven great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Jim (Karen) Smiley and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Sam, infant daughter Joan Marie, her cherished sister, and her beloved brothers-in-law and sister in-law.

Funeral services for Kathy will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton with Rev. David Farina officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Methodist in Kathy’s name are appreciated.
