There is another star shining on us with the passing of Karen A. Schuh, also affectionately known as CoCo. Karen was welcomed into the family of Don and Mary Schuh of Kimberly on June 25, 1960.
Along with them she is survived by: Sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah & Vern Wilmot, and Kathy & Tim Wirth. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim & Kathy Schuh, Ron & Carrie Schuh, Steve Schuh & friend Jean McCutcheon, Dave & Ann Schuh, Bill & Mary Schuh, and Mike & Traci Schuh. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also are part of her family.
While growing up in Kimberly, Karen loved music, swimming, biking to the library and visiting her grandparents, Paul & Katie Lochschmidt. As an adult, she was excited to move out with friends and get her own job just like her older siblings. She spent many years with the AGAPE Assisted Living and working at Valley Packaging. With them, she participated in many years of Special Olympics, especially enjoying swimming, bowling, and cross-country skiing. Cutting coupons, looking through catalogues, 500 Rummy, animal, & Disney movies will always remind us of her.
Karen spent the last 15 months of her life in the wonderful care of Amanda & staff at Brewster Village, and finally with Michele & Katie in the aptly named Heart and Homes Support Services. Our family will be eternally grateful for the dignity, care, and love given Karen by these admired professionals, along with the care of Dr Jonathen Hendricks.
A celebration in remembering Karen will be held Saturday, December 1 at Holy Spirit Church, 620 E Kimberly Ave with visitation from 9:00 till the mass at 11:00. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
