Age 55, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Franciscan Care Center. Kay was born October 29, 1946 in Appleton to Willard and Nancy Kruse. She graduated from Appleton High School West in 1965, attended UW Madison and graduated from Lawrence University with a degree in Chemistry. Kay was a loving, caring, sensitive, compassionate, spiritual soul, who enjoyed traveling, reading, researching and writing. For the last several years, Kay traveled the country pursuing her dream of awareness of the Libertarian Party. In her writings, Kay created many inspirational passages, and also in cards and letters to her family and friends. She accepted people for themselves and always wished the best to all. Her kindness and most of all her wonderful smile will always be remembered.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Crystal Hallstrom of Kaukauna; her brother William Kruse, her brother and sister in law, Jack and Janet Kruse of Appleton and their children, Andrew, Anne and Bradley; her sister and brother in law, Wendy and Tim Rutkowski of Prescott Valley, AZ and their children, Sherry and Lon (Kyle) Samford and David Rutkowski.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Monday October 21, 2002 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton with Pastor Patrick Ryan officiating. Friends and family will be received at the Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. (or) Please make donations to the American Liver Foundation, Suite 603, 75 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038-4810. Put on letter for donation for Hepatitis C and/or Liver Cancer Research or go to internet. www.liverfoundation.org to make donations.
