Age 56, passed away on March 13, 2001 surrounded by her family. Karen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life. She enjoyed the traveling she did with her husband. Her act of illuminating the neighborhood during the holidays will be remembered always. Karen is survived by her husband, William of 36 years, two children, Tammy (Brian) VanHaaster, Kimberly; and Tim (Jennifer) Von Holt, Appleton; five grandchildren, Christopher, Scott, Erik, Jacob and Nicholas; two brothers, Duane (Nancy) Wheeler, and Michael Wheeler; a sister, Linda (Yvan) Gauvin; a brother-in-law, Duane Pelky; and a very special friend, Helen Forslund; also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Viola Wheeler; a sister, Patricia Pelky; a niece, Tina Marie Pelky; and a very special friend, John Forslund.

The funeral liturgy will be on Saturday, March 17, 2001 at 12(Noon) at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tom Fritz officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, March 16, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service (12 Noon). Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
