K-9 Faro

Start of Watch: September 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of our cherished active-duty K-9, Faro, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the age of 5 years old. He was born in Germany in 2019, and he joined to the Appleton Police Department in September of 2021.

Faro’s dedication knew no bounds as a dual-purpose K-9. He was proficient in detecting controlled substances, tracking, building clearing, and apprehension. Throughout his service, Faro completed a remarkable 297 deployments, with 247 focused on detection and 50 on patrol duties.

Faro loved to work and was truly dedicated to protecting the citizens of Appleton.  Faro enjoyed spending time outside with his family and playing in the backyard.

K-9 Faro leaves behind his partner, Sergeant Rohm, and the rest of the Appleton Police Department who grieve this loss deeply.

A private service for law enforcement personnel will be held for K-9 Faro at the Wichmann Funeral Homes, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton.
