The Lord welcomed his daughter June into her heavenly home on Sunday, May 12, 2024. June was born June 15, 1934 in the town of Gillett, Wisconsin to the late Edwin and Amanda (Reinert) Rudie. She was baptized at St John Lutheran Church in Gillett on July 22, 1934. She was confirmed in her Lutheran faith at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush on June 6, 1948.
June was married April 18, 1953 in Sugar Bush to Duaine Louis Kaepernick. Their life together was blessed with 2 wonderful daughters. She was employed at the New London dental office, Elm Tree Bakery and the Bargain Bulletin in Appleton. June was a faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Appleton, where she served on the Altar Guild. To her granddaughters and great-grandchildren she was Nana, and they loved her fiercely.
Survivors include two daughters; Christine (Mark) Weihing, Rock Springs, and Julie Kaepernick, Appleton; three granddaughters: Jodie (Don) Molitor, Lyndon Station; Sara (Julus) Pahl, Loganville; Emily Herritz, Reedsburg; 7 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Sawyer, and Beau Molitor; Micah and Evan Pahl; Emmalynn and Noah Herritz; brother: Iver (Diane) Rudie; sisters in law: Marylou Rudie, Ann Rudie and Beverly White.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Duaine in 1994 and siblings Sterling, Leslie, Betty (Leroy) Jensen, David, and Faith (Duane) Brown; brothers in law Marvin Kaepernick, George White, Franklin Runge; sisters in law Velda Runge and Cherie Kaepernick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 302 N Morrison St, Appleton. Pastor Justin Shrum will officiate the service. Friends may call before the service at the church from 9 am until the time of the service. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, New London.
The family thanks the staff at Oakridge Gardens for their excellent care, compassion, and friendship caring for June. Our deepest thanks to the pastors and members of St. Paul for their visits and prayers throughout June’s illness.
