Julie A. Kirk, age 59, of Appleton, passed away at her home with family on Friday, August 3, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 3, 1959 to Raymond and Patsy (Knutson) Trudell in Appleton.
Julie graduated from Appleton East High School in 1977. She married Ed on December 16, 1978 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Appleton.
Julie was a teacher’s aide for elementary children in the Menasha and Appleton School Districts. Julie’s mothering nature, kind heart and patience made her the teacher’s aide the children adored. She spent countless hours of her own time and energy planning lessons and projects for the children. During her summers off Julie created a backyard oasis at her home. She took great pride in her immaculate yard. Julie also put her creative talents to use and would constantly redecorate or create new things for the home. Above all she cherished time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; her children, Joseph (Amber) Kirk and Sarah (Mark) Romnek; her five grandchildren, Chloe Kirk, Lucas Kirk, Tucker Romnek, Piper Romnek and Micah Kirk; her sister, Pam (Tim) Johnson and sister-in-law, Carol Reitz. Julie is further survived by many other dear family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.
Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Theodore and Helen Trudell and Clarence and Gertrude Knutson and two brothers, Tom and Kevin Trudell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at the Palisades Park pavilion in Fox Crossing. Online condolences can be shared at www.wichmannfargo.com.
Julie’s family would like to thank the staff of both the St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center and Ascension Hospice for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Julie and her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund.
