Judy E. Bishop

Judy Ellen Bishop (nee Mitchell), age 79 of Neenah, WI passed away April 12, 2022.  She was born on April 14, 1942 to Clarence and Elsie (Liewergen) Mitchell.  She graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1960, going on to raise her kids, Ken and Sue before marrying the love of her life, Homer Bishop in 1987.  She worked as a deputy assessor for the city of Grand Chute, retiring at the age of 70. 

She took passion for being a camp counselor at Camp Wild Rose with her brother Bob, teaching horseback riding and even assisting in teaching people to fly airplanes.  Judy was a very active member of the Appleton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for 60 years and White Shrine of Jerusalem for 35 years.  She spent a lot of time with Homer watching NASCAR, attending car shows, and going to races.  More than anything, though, she valued her family, spending as much time with them as she could.  

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Bishop; her parents, Clarence and Elsie (Liewergen) Mitchell; her brother, Robert Mitchell; her infant brother, Baby Mitchell; and her great-grandson, Matthew Standish.

Judy is survived by her children, Ken (Brenda) Schuette, Sue (Rick) Standish; her step-children, Christine (Kendall Baumann) Bishop, and David (Lydia Casso) Bishop; her sister-in-law, Carol Mitchell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. 

A memorial visitation will take place on April 29, 2022 from 9-11 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, 900 Geiger St, Neenah, WI with a mass following at 11 AM.  A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. 

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Nancy and Teddy for all their love, compassion, and support to Judy throughout the years.  Judy’s family would also like to thank nurse Eva with Compassus Hospice for the treatment and care she provided in Judy’s last moments.
