Judy Ann Torzala

May 15, 1942 — November 29, 2021

Judy Ann Torzala, age 79, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2021. She was born in Milwaukee on May 15, 1942, daughter of Charles (Victor) and Pauline (Zaher) Schamerhorn. She graduated from Messmer High School and worked as a homemaker, market research specialist in grocery stores, and file clerk. On September 16, 1967, Judy married Myron Torzala. They shared 48 years of marriage and raised three sons together before his passing in 2016.

Judy was a loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her joyful smile, strong determination and contagious sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and was always up for a game of Bunco or Hand & Foot. Her three grandchildren were the light of her life, and she enjoyed watching them play sports and perform on stage.

Judy enjoyed rooting for Brett Favre and the Packers, bowling, crafting, quilting and volunteering at church. After moving to Kimberly in 2010 to be closer to her three sons, Judy made many friends in her neighborhood and church, and was grateful for the warmth and generosity of the community. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she always looked forward to the magic of the season, celebrating the birth of Jesus. To her, Santa Claus was a symbol of joy, peace, giving, and most of all, family.

Judy is survived by three sons: Dale (Renee) of Appleton, Tom (Stacy) of Wrightstown, and Mike of Oshkosh, and grandchildren: Morgan (Aidan) Detienne of Madison, Justin Torzala of Appleton, and Evan Torzala of Wrightstown. She is survived by her sister: Kathy Witt; sisters-in-law  Judith Schamerhorn, Darlene Schamerhorn, Mary Fabiszak, Bernice Baranek, Ann Torzala, Virginia Torzala; brothers-in-law Leonard (Noreen) Torzala, Jerome (Nancy) Torzala. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband Myron; her brothers John Schamerhorn and Clifford Schamerhorn. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
