Judy Buenning, 86 passed away peacefully on Friday May 5, 2023. She was born on September 29, 1936, in Mellen Wisconsin, daughter of Elmer and Lorraine Anderson. Judy lived and graduated in Clintonville, Wisconsin, where she met and married her high school sweetheart,Carl Buenning in 1955. They were married for 42 years until Carl’s passing in 1996. Together, they raised 6 wonderful children. Judy was employed at Shopko for 30 plus years working mostly within the fabric department.
Judy had many hobbies, interests, and skills. She was a talented seamstress making beautiful dresses and outfits for her daughters. Judy and Carl loved the Wolf River and spent summer weekends at their trailer at Guth’s Resort. Being an avid fan of golf, Judy could be found watching golf tournaments on TV and playing the sport in her younger years. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley and his iconic music. Some of Judy’s other hobbies and interests include: reading, crafting, cooking, bird and squirrel watching, and hosting family holiday get-togethers. Most of all, Judy loved spending precious time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her children; Debbie (Cliff Yarosh) Schoppa, Kathy Sterman, Janet (Dave) Cook, Kevin (Kelly) Buenning, Sandy (Mark) Melzer. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Judy in death were: parents Elmer and Lorraine Anderson, brother Jim Anderson, daughter Cindy Buenning, sons-in-law Randy Schoppa and Dan Sterman.
There will be a private family service on Wednesday May 17, 2023, at Wichmann Funeral Home.
