Joylene A. Delie, 86, known lovingly as Joy, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Kimberly, Wisconsin. Joy was born on August 3, 1938, in Appleton, Wisconsin to Florian and Ruth (Smith) Reck.
Joy graduated from Appleton High School and began a career as a secretary at Prudential and later Prime Pattern. She also served as a financial aid advisor for over 20 years at Lawrence University in Appleton, where her commitment to helping students was evident.
In her personal life, Joy met her life partner, Andrew Delie, in grade school, and they were married on May 4, 1957. Together, they built a life centered around family. Joy was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren, frequently attending their softball and baseball games, offering encouragement and enthusiasm.
Joy is survived by her husband, Andrew Delie, their children: John "JD" (Terri) Delie and Pam (Tony) Delie-Dietz. She was also a proud grandmother to grandsons Jordan and Rece Dietz. Joy is remembered fondly by her brother, John (Sally) Reck, her sister-in-law, Leandra "Toots" Gill, and many nieces and nephews who delighted in her warmth and care.
Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Delie, as well as her parents, her in-laws, Andrew and Delores Delie, and brothers-in-law James Delie and Merlin Gill.
A Celebration of Life for Joy will be held on March 30, 2025, at Lake Park Pub and Grill, 8904 Lake Park Road in Menasha, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
