KAPPELL, JOYCE W.
Joyce W. Kappell, of Appleton, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at her home with her family at her side. She was born November 27, 1931 in Clintonville, the daughter of the late Jay M. and Sara (Schulz) Weatherwax. Joyce graduated from Clintonville High School and attended Fox Valley Technical College. She moved to Appleton in 1950 and on October 15, 1955 she married Robert J. “Whitey” Kappell. Joyce retired after 33 years as parish secretary at All Saint’s Episcopal Church, Appleton. She was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton. Joyce enjoyed being with family, friends, bowling, reading, cards and helping where ever needed.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Robert) Bruskewitz of New London; granddaughters: Tanya (Daryle) Perry of Oshkosh and Tammy (Greg) Vissers of Little Chute; grandsons: David (Amanda) Bruskewitz of Appleton and Dennis Bruskewitz of Neenah; six great grandchildren: Alex, Madison, Carly and Drew Bruskewitz, Zachary and Jonathon Vissers; sister: June Endres of Appleton; brothers-in-law: Oward Kautz of New London and Donald L. (Kathy) Kappell of Appleton; sister-in-law: Betty (Gene) Sprangers of Black Creek. Joyce is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on October 18, 1999, her sister, Fern Kautz, two sisters-in-law, two nieces and a nephew.
The funeral service for Joyce will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason St., Appleton with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke and Rev. Paul T. Schuler officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday (today) at Wichmann Funeral Home from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday at the Church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to thank ThedaCare at Home Hopice staff for all of their help and support.
