Joyce Marie (Schulze) Soper

Joyce M. Soper, 87, died on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Brewster Village, Appleton. She was born on May 25, 1932, in Appleton, the daughter of Reinhold and Elisabeth Schulze, and was a lifelong resident. She married Ronald Soper on May 19, 1966, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Joyce was employed by the Post Crescent for 37 years, retiring as office manager in 1987. She was a proud member of the 25-year club. After retirement she and her husband ran Soperior Auction Service for 15 years. Joyce enjoyed refinishing furniture, gardening, antique hunting, decorating and especially happy times with family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her brother: Ronald (Kay) Schulze; sister-in-law: Sharon (John) Hunt; step-daughter: Evelyn (Ronald) Gilbertson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Ron; her parents; sister: Joan (Howard) Wenzel; and in-laws: John and Flavia Soper.

Funeral liturgy for Joyce will be held at 5:30 pm, on Monday, July 15, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 Lawrence St., Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 4:30 pm until the time of the Mass.

Joyce will be truly missed by those whose lives she touched. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Brewster Village for their wonderful care and compassion.
