SONKOWSKY, JOYCE H. (Hauser)

Joyce H. Sonkowsky, age 69, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 21, 2007, at Manor Care in Appleton. Joyce was born on August 18, 1938, to the late Harold and Ann (Winters) Hauser. She was employed for many years at the Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton until it ceased operation. Joyce was friendly and always had a smile. Even during her illness she fought with strength and courage and Joyce is an inspiration to all of us. She could always be counted on if you needed someone. She would always be there for you. Joyce and Don were great caregivers to Mother when she was at Brewster Village. She was a wonderful sister and friend. We find comfort in knowing our loving Father and Mother will be waiting to welcome her home. Survivors include son, Jeffery (Jennifer) Sonkowsky, Kimberly; her granddaughter, Kara, Kimberly; her sisters, Delores (Eugene) Schreiter, Appleton; Lois “Lou” (Douglas) Schmuhl, Oshkosh; and Carol (Jack) Losse, Wild Rose; her brothers, Donald Hauser, Appleton, and Carl (Linda) Hauser, Menasha; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Father Harold in 1980 and her Mother Ann on July 2, 2007. She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald, as an infant, and David in June of 2005. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Rev. Mike Dismer officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joyce’s name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the nurses at AMC and Manor Care. Everyone was so loving and kind to Joyce, and she so richly deserved. Thank you all.
