Joyce A. Davis

September 6, 1938 — November 3, 2018

Joyce Davis, age 80 of Appleton, passed away at Prairie Homes in Menasha on Saturday evening, November 3, 2018. Joyce was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 6, 1938, daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Thesenvitz) Dunsmore. On November 23, 1957, she married Marvin Davis in St. Paul, Minnesota, while he was serving in the United States Navy. Joyce was always proud of the fact that she was a military wife, since Marvin served for over twenty years.

She loved to help plan the annual flower gardens which Peggy would plant each spring, enjoyed shopping with her mother – the two of them were inseparable, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Joyce is survived by her daughter: Peggy Conlon of Appleton; three grandchildren: Adam (Karissa) Johnson of Oswego, New York; Samantha (Michelle) Giffey of Appleton; and Tyler (Kendra) Capelle of Appleton; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Kayden, and Hayden; and a sister-in-law: Betty Dunsmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Richard Conlon, brother David Dunsmore, and grand-puppy Hunter.

A funeral service for Joyce will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Highland Memorial Park’s Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Street in Appleton. Family and friends are invited to gather at the chapel from 11:30 AM Wednesday until the time of the service.

The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to all of the angels at Prairie Homes in Menasha for the love, care, and compassion shown to Joyce the past two years. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
