Joy Ehlke, age 66, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born on January 23, 1949, to the late Marlin and Ellen Mae (Arnold) Springstroh. On June 13, 1970, Joy married the love of her life Thomas Ehlke at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. She was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church. Her life's focus and energy revolved around her children and her grandchildren. She was always eager to share stories about her family with the people she knew.
Joy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Tom Ehlke; five sons: Scott (Kathie) of Waukesha, Kevin (Stephanie) of Fond du Lac, Mark (Mandy) of Appleton, Joshua of Seattle, Washington, and Brett (Lori) of Stevensville, Michigan; grandchildren: Braden, Emma, and Alex; Owen, Oliver, and Simeon; Melita, Amalie, and Matthias; Ian, Aaron, Ella, and Olivia; her sister Kay Springstroh of Oshkosh; sister-in-law Kathie Weihing of Bloomington, Illinois; brothers-in-law: Bob (Judy) Ehlke of Casey, Illinois and Don Ehlke of Menasha. She is further survived by her close friend Audrey Leppala of Pembine, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The memorial service for Joy will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street in Appleton. Rev. Thomas Mielke will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
