Josephine Rose "Jo" Ratzman

Josephine R. Ratzman, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2018, at Parkview Care Center, Oshkosh. She was born on September 13, 1931, in Hollandtown the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Nabozna) Kaczmarek. Jo was married to Benedict Charles Hendricks and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1956. She then married the love of her life, Gordon “Gordy” Ratzman Jr, on August 10, 1960, in Appleton, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2014. Jo was employed with Gimbels Department Store for many years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, trips to the casino, traveling, doing counted cross stitch and puzzles, birdwatching, attending family gatherings, watching the Green Bay Packers and gameshows. Josephine will be remembered most for her love of family and the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a kind, caring, quiet, thoughtful, loving, and compassionate woman, with a devotion to God. Josephine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, Menasha.

Jo is lovingly survived by her children: Deborah (Tom) Borchart, Charles B. Hendricks Jr., Dan E. Ratzman, and Vicki (Curt) Sprenger; grandchildren: Katie, Stacey (Ryan) Rothe, and Andy Borchart, Gina Hendricks, Amie (Ryan) Rebman, Caleb Ratzman, Tyler (Amanda), Ryan, and Colten Sprenger; great-grandchildren: Bailey, Makyla, Kallen, Kayden, and Piper; sisters: Dorie (Dick) Penkala and Terry Fields; a brother-in-law: Bill Ciske; and many other relatives and friends.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; siblings: Anna, Stella, Michael, Kate, Andrew, Peter, Francis, Joseph, Mary, John, Julie, Angelina, and Stanley.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha, with Deacon Rick Dvorak officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Menasha. Visitation will be on Saturday at the chapel from 9:00 am until the time of the service.

Jo’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Parkview Care Center and Ascension Hospice for all of their wonderful care, compassion, and support.
