Josephine Kilgas

Age 87, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2002 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. Jo was born in Ellis, Kansas on February 21, 1915, daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Keberlein) Beford. In October of 1933, she married Jerome “Romy” Kilgas; he preceded her in death in October of 1998. For several years, Josephine worked in the meat department at Larry’s Piggly Wiggly, and was also a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law: Dorothy Kilgas of Orange Vale, California; two grandsons: Jeff Kilgas and his special friend K.C. and Brad Kilgas, all of Washington state; a brother: Robert (Mildred) Beford of Appleton; a sister: Irene Alger of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Marge Beford and Kareta Kilgas, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, her son Jim in 1997, brothers Ralph, George, Isadore, and John, and sisters Helen and Mary.

The funeral liturgy for Jo will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 PM until the hour of the services.
