KOROTEV, JOSEPHINE M. (Gerard)

Josephine “Jo”, age 86, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005, at Comfort Years Assisted Living in Neenah. Jo was born in Door County, Wisconsin, on March 19, 1919, to the late Edward and Cecelia (Leyanna) Gerard. When Jo was 2, her family moved to the Neenah-Menasha area, where she has lived for the last 84 years. She married George G. Mason, who preceded her in death. Jo married Glen “Skip” Korotev, on June 26, 1972, and spent 32 wonderful years with him until his death in 2004. She was employed by Kimberly Clark Company until her retirement in 1973. Jo was a member of St. Gabriel Church of Neenah for many years. She loved to play 500 Rummy with family and friends, took pride in her beautiful flower garden and loved to collect elephants. Jo will be remembered by her son, George (Shirley) Mason, Menasha; her daughter, Sharon (Tom) Ashman, Neenah; her son-in-law, Phil (Joyce) Bruecker, Kaukauna; her grandchildren, Todd (Merry) Mason, Darboy; Sheri (Allen) Dains, Kaukauna; Marc (Stacy) Mason, Neenah; Ray Ashman, Neenah; Rick (Diane) Bruecker, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota Steve Bruecker, Fond du lac; David Bruecker, Kaukauna; David Bruecker, Appleton; Ken Bruecker, Appleton; Jane (Terry) Pebbles, Dundas; Pat (Dan) Garcia, Jefferson; Paula (Randy) Malueg, Darboy; Laura (Rob) Swanningson, Kaukauna; April (Jamie) Brudwick, Dundas; Sally (Scott) Coghlan, Menasha; 20 great grandchildren; her sister, Clara Zitzelsberger, Ripon; many special nieces, nephews and friends. Jo was preceded in death by her first husband and their daughter, Geraldine M Bruecker and Jo’s husband Glen Korotev. She was further preceded in death by her three brothers, Roy, Vernon and Clarence Gerard and seven sisters, Evelyn, Leona, Genevee, Bernetta, Adele, Goldie and Mildred. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at ST. GABRIEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. Friends may call directly at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jo’s name. The family would like to express their most heartfelt appreciation to Jennifer and her most loving and caring staff at Comfort Years, for taking such good care of Jo. Also to ThedaCare Hospice for being a great comfort to Jo and her family.
