Age 80, died Sunday evening, March 2, 2003, following a long illness. She was born August 29, 1922, to the late Joseph and Anna (Nickels) Schimmers, in Appleton, where she was a resident her entire life. Josie had been employed by Stokley VanCamp for six years. She was an avid bingo and card player, loved socializing and was a very loving person. Josie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Christian Ladies. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. and Ellen Bellin, Appleton; two granddaughters, Sara and Victoria Bellin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver “Butch” and Dorothy Schimmers, Appleton; Russell and Gail Schimmers, Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Olive Ann and Harold Emmons, Appleton; and Florence Knutson, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor W. Bellin, December 16, 1985, two brothers, Frank and Stanley Schimmers, a sister, Alice Schimmers, a sister-in-law, Marie Schimmers and a brother-in-law, Orviand Knutson.The funeral liturgy for Josephine will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, Wisconsin, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am, Wednesday until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
