Joseph Grady, age 39, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was born on March 16, 1973, the son of Patrick and Lois (Peterson) Grady. Joe graduated from Freedom High School in 1991. He worked at Pierce Manufacturing. Joe was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. He loved the family cabin up north and looked forward to deer hunting at the Bucks R Us Deer Camp.
Joe is survived by his wife: Erika Grady; children: Ty and Hannah Grady; parents: Patrick and Lois Grady; brother: Jeff (Betty) Grady; niece: Seraphine “Worm” Grady and nephew: Nicholas Grady; and his grandfather: Patrick (Joan) Grady. He is further survived by his godparents: Dick and Laura Gonnering; hunting buddies: Troy and Gary; special friends: the Heimermann and Steinert families, and Kelsey “Squirrel” Hanson; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents: Edwin and Alice Peterson, and Juline Grady; uncles: Roger and Jim Peterson, Michael Grady, and Karl Hoffmann; aunt: Dee Dee Grady; and cousin: Colt Ringer.
The funeral liturgy for Joe will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Fr. Dan Felton will be officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday at the Fargo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until a prayer service at 7:00 pm. In addition, there will be visitation on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the 1, 000 Islands Environmental Center or the DNR Deer Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities Program are appreciated.
