Age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Joe was born on March 1, 1928, in Chicago, to the late Gerald and Bertha Farrell. He married Elaine Walters on August 31, 1963. Joe was a devoted family man; a loving husband, father and grandfather. Everyone Joe met became a friend; he was well-known for his sense of humor and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Elaine; his daughters, Jean (Arthur) Jacobs, Appleton, and Christine (Steven) Hansen, Appleton; and his grandchildren, Tyler and Elizabeth Hansen. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2004, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 West Pine Street, Appleton, with Fr. John P. Bergstadt officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
