Age 32, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2005. He was born in Appleton on June 2, 1973, son of John and Bernice (Veitenhans) McCormick. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1991. He went on to work at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton. Joe was an avid auto enthusiast and worked on rebuilding cars and creating hot rods. He was particularly proud of his custom Harley. He just started and really enjoyed Walleye fishing.

He is survived by his parents, John and Bernice McCormick of Combined Locks; sister: Lisa (Eric) Ross of Dallas, TX; aunts and uncles: Sister Alice McCormick of Racine, Raymond (Ceil) McCormick of Darboy, James (Dorothy) McCormick of Darboy, Sister Pat McCormick of Green Bay, Judy and Joanne McCormick of Appleton, Mary (Dave) Rades of Appleton, Dan (Joy) McCormick of Appleton, Kathy (Tom) Coon (Joe’s Godparents) of Darboy, Mary Veitenhans of Madison, Joe (Sue) Veitenhans of Wickenburg, AZ, and Ruth Megonigal of Coatsville, PA. He is further survived by his godchild, Rachel Seidl, and numerous cousins and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents: Martin and Alice McCormick, and Frank and Helen Veitenhans; uncles, Robert Veitenhans; aunt, Rita Boyce; and a cousin Lori McCormick.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace St., Combined Locks, with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Friends will be received at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, Kimberly on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Combined Locks.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Joe’s name is being established for children’s charities.
