Joseph Anthony Haen

Joseph A. Haen, born on January 16, 1995, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2024. He is the son of John and Kate Haen and brother of Jason Haen. Joe attended Xavier High School in Appleton, graduating with the class of 2013. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Throughout these years, he worked side by side with his dad at the family business. He loved learning about and using technology. He enjoyed his electric guitar, and he loved dogs, especially the family golden retriever, Star. Joe was a delightful child who struggled with a complicated adulthood. As a child, he was outgoing, striking up conversations with whomever he met. His brilliant blue eyes took in all the wonder of the world, and he was curious about everything. As an adult, he continued to be inquisitive. He loved to read and engage in deep conversations about what he had learned. He was brave and resilient in the face of difficult challenges. He had a good and kind heart, and he gave big but gentle hugs. He was a good and loving son and an awesome big brother, bringing so much joy to his family. He was deeply loved, and he will always be “Our Joe.”

Joe is survived by his loving parents and brother, his Grandmothers Patricia Haen- Schuette and Mary Kalupa, aunts and uncles Diane and Randy Smith, Sue and Tom Nack, Dan and Cindy Haen, Tim and Martha Haen, Tom Haen, Kim Haen, Tom and Chris Kalupa, Lori Kalupa, Connie, and Michael Diamond (Godparents) and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Haen and Tom Kalupa, Sr., his step-grandfather Fred Schuette, and his Uncle Ed Kalupa.

A funeral mass to celebrate Joe's life will take place on Friday November 22, 2024, at 11:30am, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St, Kaukauna. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:30am until mass begins. Joe will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
