Joseph H. Pozolinski

December 27, 1927 — July 2, 2001

Joseph Howard Pozolinski
Appleton

Age 73, died on Monday, July 2, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Joseph was born on December 27, 1927 in Menasha, son of the late Anton and Louise (DePotie) Pozolinski. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1945. Joseph proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army, being stationed in Japan. Following his discharge from the Army, Joseph was employed as a linotype operator at the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune until 1955. Joseph then began work at the Post Crescent, where he retired on his birthday, in 1989. He married Dorothy Wanserski on September 9, 1951 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Menasha, and they have enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage. Joseph was an avid woodworker, and would create toys which would be donated to the Children’s Ward at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He loved to travel, especially to Canada and the New England coast. Joseph also enjoyed golfing and mall walking with his wife Dorothy. He was a loving husband, father of 4 proud sons and grandfather; and will be greatly missed by them. Joseph is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his three sons, Jerry (Jackie) Pozolinski, and their children Doug and Crystal, Oshkosh; Fred (Amy) Pozolinski, and their children Carrie and Tyler, Neenah; Michael (Judy) Pozolinski, and their children Danielle, Amanda, Brett and Nathan, Darboy; and his two brothers, Ray (Marquette) Page, Green Bay; Dave (Joy) Pozolinski, Menasha. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Tom and his sister Marge. Joseph’s Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2001, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Father Harold Berryman officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joseph’s name. Dorothy would like to thank Dr. Abouzelam, Dr. Avery and their assistants; the staff in the I.C.U; friends and neighbors for their prayers and concern; and especially her loving family, who without their help would never have made it through this difficult time.
