Beloved father and husband of the late Jacquelyn Midkiff, age 82, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003. He was born in Chicago on February 7, 1921, to the late Harold S. and Mary C. (Schumacher) Midkiff. Joseph served with the U. S. Army during WW II in the Italian Campaign, where he received the Purple Heart. He had been employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David G. and Phyllis Midkiff, Alpharetta, GA; Michael and Julie Midkiff, San Diego, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Brad MacArthur, Larsen, WI; four grandchildren, Matthew MacArthur, Ryan Reubelt, Christine MacArthur and Kelcie Midkiff; two sisters, Jean Giles, Park Ridge, IL; Marion Frederiksen, Chesterfield Township, MI; and a brother, Frank Midkiff, Sr., Crown Point, IN. A funeral service for Joseph will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 8, 2003 at the funeral home, with Father Harold Berryman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am, Saturday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established for Covenant House, Time Square Station, P. O. Box 731, New York, NY 10108-0731, in lieu of flowers.
