Joseph F. Brehm

On the 2010 summer solstice, the longest day of the year, Joe Brehm's earthly journey came to a close and he is now enjoying eternal light and life. Joe was 63, and had briefly but courageously battled brain cancer. Joe was born in Neenah on August 3, 1946, son of the late Joseph T. Brehm and Mary Ann (Schaefer) Brehm who still resides in Appleton. He was a 1964 graduate of the Appleton High School, and attended Milwaukee's Layton School of Art and the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Joe was currently employed by the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin. Joe was a man of many interests, including astronomy, technology, reading, art, and music.

He is survived by his mother: Mary Ann Brehm of Appleton; five siblings: Qathryn (Margaret Pittman) Brehm of Los Angeles; Michael (Michelle) Brehm of Appleton; Betty (Tom) Parish of Medina; Anna (Lars) Anderson of Appleton; and Patty (Chris) Heinz of Appleton; nine nieces and nephews: Samantha (Eric) Fritz; Michelle Brehm; Kaylen Brehm; Jay (Brooke) Parish; Christina (Jeff) Seidner; Eric (Melissa) Anderson; Courtney (Justin Vincent) Anderson; and Benjamin (Sarah) Anderson; and Jack Heinz; several great-nieces and nephews: Abby, Samantha, Lily, Sophia, Liberty, Dylan, Nolan, Raegan, Jonah, and Levi; and two aunts: Barbara Van Eperen of Kimberly and Lillian Brehm of Neenah. There are also many cousins, relatives, and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his father (December 2003), a brother George Brehm (April 2005), as well as several aunts and uncles.

A memorial mass for Joe will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 28, 2010 at ST. EDWARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, Highway 47 North in Mackville with inurnment following in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
