Joseph James Endres

Joe Endres Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023, in the presence of family. He was born on March 30, 1934, at the family home in Menasha the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Kraus) Endres. Although, Joe worked for other paper companies over the years, Joseph finished out his working years with Wisconsin Tissue Mills for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was an avid woodworker who enjoyed making crafts for the church, friends and family. In addition, doing family genealogy and Menasha history research were other past-times of his. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, Menasha, serving on the cemetery committee, completing carpentry projects for the parish over the years, and assisting with the parish rummage sale. Hans’ faith was important to him, and he was strong in his Catholic beliefs.

Joseph is survived by 25 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and great nephews, other relatives, good friends, people he considered extended family, and a sister-in-law: June Endres.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Genevieve Endres, Florence (Maurice) Adamietz, and Elizabeth (Leon) Lauer; brothers: George (Jane), Jimmy, and Jerome (Monica) Endres; a nephew: Ralph Endres; and a niece-in-law: Connie Endres.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha. Visitation will be on Saturday, at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
