John W. Stoffel

Age 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, April 28, 2003. John was born in Winona, Minnesota on July 30, 1935, son of the late Clair and Marie (Taylor) Stoffel. Following his graduation from high school, he served his country as a member of the United States Army. After service, he attended the University of Wisconsin РMadison for three years, with a focus in engineering. On June 2, 1962, he married the former Marilyn Fahrbach at Sacred Heart Church in Appleton. Most of John’s working career was spent at Appleton Mills, and retired in 1993 as the Vice President of Manufacturing. Many will remember John as an avid reader and card player. He also enjoyed working puzzles and traveling with Marilyn.

He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Stoffel of Kimberly; two sons: Mike (Gayle) Stoffel of Wauwatosa and their daughters Megan and Kayla; Mark (Kelly) Stoffel of Kaukauna and their children Mara and Cody; two daughters: Lynn (Ed) Aisawa of Sunnyvale, California and their children Sarah, Michelle, and Kevin; and Lisa Stoffel of Milwaukee; a brother: Clair “Fritz” (Sandy) Stoffel of Appleton; two sisters: Carol (Frank) Post of Appleton and Mary (Dave) Brooks of Appleton; a sister-in-law: Rose Stoffel of Little Chute. John was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Alex Aisawa, a brother Denis Stoffel, and a brother-in-law John Fahrbach.

The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 2, 2003 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the hour of services.

The material things of this life meant nothing to John. His loving wife, children, and grandchildren were the focus of his love, and they will miss him dearly.
