John Vanden Elsen

John Vanden Elsen, age 95, of Appleton, passed away on December 17, 2020. John was born on April 2, 1925 in Appleton, Wisconsin. On November 9, 1946 he married the former Jeanette Hogan and she preceded him in death. John served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy.

He worked for over 30 years as a painter and millworker at Consolidated Paper. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly.

He is survived by 3 children: Kathy Clawson of Florida, Tom Vanden Elsen of Kimberly and Mike Vanden Elsen of Appleton as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette, one daughter Patricia Krause and five sisters.

In lieu of flowers, and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Donations will be used to help our nation’s wounded veterans.
