John Michael Denny, 52 years, unexpectedly passed away August 14, 2018 at his Cottage retreat at St, Claire Lake in Taylor County, Wisconsin. He was born on October 25, 1965 to Clarence L. and Lois J. Denny (Payne). He was a graduate of Appleton West High School.
John fulfilled a childhood dream by enlisting in the US Army. He proudly served as a Crew Chief on a helicopter doing tours including Egypt, Israel and Central America. He was resilient surviving a crash in Honduras.
John graduated with an Associate Degree in Criminology from Fox Valley Technical College. He was a dedicated member of the security department at Thimany Paper Mill. John loved to spend time at the cottage at St. Claire Lake shooting target practice, hunting for deer and small game as well as fishing the area lakes.
John will be missed by his mother Lois J. Denny (Payne), special friend Jodi Vandenbloomer, her children and his god-children Mason, Rylee, and Marshall, brothers Dave (Joan) Denny and Thomas (Eva) Denny, nieces and nephews Mari-Lee (Kris) Kersten, Kari Denny, Renae (Matt) Campbell, great-nieces and great-nephews Griffin. Lana, Ashton, Eli, Sophia, Ian, Faile, Mcallister, Finley, Monte. Further survived by his friend Sarah and family in Ireland, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his father Clarence Denny and a sister Patricia Ann Denny.
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Wichmann-Fargo Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Military Honors will be held at the conclusion of the gathering. Private inurment.
A memorial fund in Jon’s name will be established.
