John L. Mischler, age 94, died peacefully Friday, August 27, 2021, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born on April 26, 1927, in West Allis, Wisconsin the son of Frank and Ella (Fuhrmann) Mischler. He then moved to Kaukauna as a young child and worked on the farm with his father and 2 brothers. John graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1946. John was a Supervisor at American Can for 32 years and it is there where he met his beautiful wife.
John married his true love Doris “Dolly” Mischler, on May 18, 1979. They shared so much love and happiness in their 42 years of marriage, many road trips to Idaho and Washington visiting their son Rick and fun trips to Branson, MS with friends. Their greatest love was their time at their Crooked Lake cottage. So many fond memories with family and friends, snowmobiling, fishing and the Deer Camp with his boys and grandsons. John and Dolly enjoyed many golf and bowling leagues with friends. John started his love of building when he received a model airplane kit as a child, and his desire grew from there. He progressed into designing and building homes, he was very knowledgeable in all repairs and had an engineering mind to create solutions for projects. He truly was a Jack-of-all-trades including rebuilding engines for his childrens cars, minibikes and go-carts.
John was a loving husband and father, brother, and friend. He loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and share his knowledge. He was a friend to all who knew him, he had a charismatic personality with a smile and eyes that lit up a room.
Survivors include his wife Doris “Dolly”of Menasha, children Mark (Kathy) Mischler of Menasha, Tom (Sandy) Mischler of Crivitz, John Driessen of Neenah, Jack (Sue) Mischler of Neenah, Diane (Al) Morse of Neenah, Sharon (Don) Dedering of Neenah, Debbie (Pete) Ansems of Neenah, Rick (Alisa) Smolinski of Idaho, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Harold Mischler, sister- in-law Joyce Mischler. Brothers and sisters-in-law Butch Schurer of Menasha, Joan Zienert of Neenah, Peggy (Don) Kloepfel of Menasha, Connie (Dave Noe) Gaschler of Menasha, Debi (Jim) Schwehr of Montana, sister-in-law Tami Schurer (Pat Denor) of Appleton.
John was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ella Mischler, his beautiful daughter Sandra Driessen, brother Francis Mischler, sister-in-law Bev Mischler, brothers & sisters-in-law Gene and Sharon Farr, Dick Farr, Ron Schurer, Skip Schurer and his mother-in-law Gert (Elmer) Delfosse.
A private service will be held for the immediate family.
