John R. Hoffmann, 76, died unexpectedly on November 2, 2024 at his home in Menasha, WI. He was born on July 8, 1948 in Neenah, WI to Ralph and Virginia (Young) Hoffmann.
John was a Vietnam veteran of the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970. He served aboard the USS Enterprise CVN 65 from 1966 through the on board fire of January 1969. He retired from Eggers Hardwood Products in Neenah.
John enjoyed women’s basketball as an avid fan of the UWGB Phoenix, being a season ticket holder for many seasons running. He enjoyed completing puzzles, playing cards, especially canasta, with his friends and neighbors at Briarwood Cottages in Menasha where he lived, and also with his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed the Northwoods, especially in the fall, making many trips to the Eagle River and Anvil Lake region with family. He enjoyed photography and baking his mom’s recipe chocolate chip cookies.
John is survived by his siblings Bob (Linda) Hoffmann, Ann (Chuck) Luebke, Rick Hoffmann, Patty (Scott) Brown, Jim (Diane) Hoffmann as well as nieces Lauren (Brown) Sell and Olivia (Hoffmann) Amdall and nephews Ryan Hoffmann and Eric Brown and many other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents.
