John H. Landgraf, age 71, unexpectedly went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 17, 2008, after suffering a sudden and painless heart attack. John was born June 9, 1936, to the late Harold E. and Viola (Steffes) Landgraf of Menasha. After returning from Army duty in Fairbanks, Alaska, he married Nancy Williamson on April 12, 1958. They were planning on celebrating 50 years of marriage this coming April. John worked for Fairmont Foods in Appleton for twenty years and then at Zaug's Vending for twenty years before retiring. During retirement he worked part-time at Menard's – just long enough to spoil the girls with Nancys home-made baked goods. John enjoyed golfing, spending time with his grandchildren, and entering sweepstakes on the internet.
In addition to his wife Nancy, John is survived by his five children and their families: Bill Landgraf of Neenah and his children Ben and Jessica; Bob (Becky) Landgraf of Kimberly and their daughter Danielle “Pookie” and her special friend Nick; Mary (Ken) Langenhahn of New London and their son John Steger and his special friend Chelsea; Karen (Dean) Sandvig of Menasha and their sons Eric and Nathan; and Mike Landgraf of Neenah and his daughter Felicia and his granddaughter Myranda. John is further survived by his sisters: Joan Skenandore of Oconomowoc and Catherine Ann (John) Korb of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law: Yvonne Landgraf of Elkhart Lake; and Nancys brothers and sister: Ken (RoseMary) Williamsen of Kimberly; Audrey (Paul) Janssen of Kimberly; Dick (Mary Lou) Williamson of Little Chute; Dave (Judy) Williamson of Combined Locks; and Alan Williamson of Kimberly, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Janet, a sister Mary Helen (Fred) Voecks, his brother Edward Landgraf, and Nancy's parents Sylvan “Sheik” and Mary Williamson.
The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH KIMBERLY, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue, with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the services. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Johns name. An online guestbook can be viewed and signed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Kimberly Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance and the medical professionals and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
