Age 70, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 with his family at his side. He was born in the Town of Cassel, WI on March 26, 1937, son of the late John and Cecelia (Sauter) Ceranski. He graduated from Marathon High School in 1955. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1961. He continued his education with NCR first in cash registers and then in computers. On January 4, 1964 he married his wife of 43 years, Anne Haynes. John was employed as a computer engineer for NCR, retiring in 1992. He spent his retirement years doing what he loved, he could make and fix just about everything.

John is survived by his wife, Anne; children: Michele and Jeff Smith, Kim and Ron LaCroix and their children: Megan and Nicholas; Mark and Lisa Ceranski and their children: Leah and Jenna; and John and Kristin Ceranski and their children: Elizabeth and Matthew; brothers: Anthony (Nancy) Ceranski, Joseph Ceranski, Hilary Ceranski, Fidelis (Mary) Ceranski, Francis (Diane) Ceranski and David (Barbara) Ceranski; sisters: Olive (Roland) Marsolek, Joyce (Richard) Hornung and Patricia (Arnold) Drewek; Mother-in-law, Ruth Haynes; Sister-in-law Jill (Steve) Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Gwyn Haynes; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Ceranski.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home, 3212 S. Oneida St., on Monday, July 16, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.

The family extends a special thank you to the team at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center for their wonderful care of John.
