Age 51, passed away unexpectedly in Hilbert on July 10, 2002. He was born in Franklin Park, Illinois on October 4, 1950, son of the late Chester and Valerie (Nelson) Slowinski. On November 17, 1990, he married Kim Buelow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. John was a loving and devoted father. He spent much time with his children and especially enjoyed playing baseball and fishing with his son Cody and playing with his daughter Dominique.

John is survived by his wife Kim; son, Cody; daughter, Dominique; two brothers: Jim (Carol) Slowinski of Carol Streams, Illinois and Michael (Becky) Slowinski of Temecula, California; and a sister, Sharon (David) Bugjaski of Des Plains, Illinois. He is further survived by two uncles: a good friend Helgie (Mary Jane) Nelson of Wisconsin Rapids and Bill (Shirley) Nelson of Washington; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

The Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2002, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 108 South Sixth Street, Hilbert, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
